I should keep my big mouth shut!

OMG....I thought I wanted flowers for my anniversary....No I guess I really wanted some alien looking Star Trek Klingon plant from HELL. Yikes! My hubby, as sweet as he tried to be brought home what he thought I would just adore as a 'beautiful' plant. Let me take a sec. to back up and tell you all that I am a natural plant killer. If it were not for the automatic sprinkler system outside I would be able to cultivate only dust and clay in my yard. So unfortunately at the moment six plants try to live with me, with only two that have fully adapted to life without water for months at a time. I have also managed to almost kill the two cactus plants, one died back to a mere stump and the other is shedding all the unnecessary leaves that require too much water! Hey what can I say...it is survival of the fittest around here! My dear hubby thought that I'd just love to take on this new responsibility trying to keep yet another thing alive around here. (I sometimes struggle to remember to feed the animals and the children! J/K stop dialing DCFS!) My goal for my anniversary gift will be to keep it alive until next year...but I would even settle for keeping it alive for the next week! PS....I did manage a killer deal on a dozen roses and I bought them...yep for myself dammit! But I can watch these ones droop and die and not feel one bit bad about chucking them in the garbage can after a few days! Love it....beautiful flowers and no guilt when the shrivel up and die!!!

heart pajama's to heart burn...remember how I said I Love ♥'s

V-day is tomorrow. I don't ever get too excited about it...even though it is my anniversary too. My hubby tends to forget these important girly moments in life. This year the kids and I made some valentines for Gma and Gpa. They had fun making them...and so did I until Wes hollered, "Don't EAT the glue stick Ryann!" OK....note to self - remember a few weeks back that Ryann used a glue stick on her cheeks to stick her curls to the side of her head.....so why was she using one tonight unsupervised???? I cannot answer that. (bad mom judgement, that is what I chalk it up to.) From there we moved quickly to bath time and trying to settle down for bed time. Ryann was sporting some really cute heart pj's, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of her curly hair after bath time. Poor girl is not gonna be happy with her dad when she gets older. The longer it tries to grow the curlier it seems...her hair is too fine to weigh the curls down. Which when I was told I was having a little girl, I immediately signed up to hair blogs, so that I would be able to dole out the torture that my own mother subjected me to. I had long, straight, heavy, thick hair that grew very fast. I have memories of french braids that made me look Chinese. Headaches induced from my hair being pulled so tight, and finally the relief of getting to take them out and my scalp being able to have blood and feeling back in it. I looked forward to my pay backs on my little girl....but God always seems to have other plans! :) Since hearts is the theme of tonight's blog I thought I would just throw in the little side note of suffering from horrendous heartburn tonight.....I haven't had it this bad since I was pregnant....UGH! (and no I am not pregnant, but I did get congratulated the other day from a previous FB status...LOL. My friend Jenn skims through the updates and just saw the first line...it made me chuckle, because I was actually trying to freak out my mother....Yeah I am mean like that!) I hope that love is in the air for all the romantics I know, and I pray that my hubby at least remembers to bring me flowers!

HELLO...is this thing on???

I like blogging....I think it has been fun to blab about what I think about my life and trivial stuff. I have always loved keeping a journal (thanks Aunt Shiril) and have been able to do it since I was twelve years old. Every once in a while I will read back through them and get the biggest laugh. I have been through some really crazy S*&% in my life, and I actually have proof that I did it and was there. I love the fact that I can turn the things that I have gone through into pretty entertaining stories for others. I have been known to have people laughing so hard at my stories that I have to clarify "This has really happened to me!" So blogging for me is another outlet to let you into the inner circle of my life. I try to let you see it the way that I do. I know that my friends and family who peruse this blog have told me personally that it rings true to who I am...which I take as a compliment. As long as I continue to like blogging I'll try to keep up with it, but don't ever be surprised if there are gaps. I missed about four years in my journal....which you would have thought I would have been writing every moment down. It was the years where I got divorced, shacked up with an abusive addict, had my first child, abused drugs, got clean, tried school again and finally got married again. Now that I think of it....I was just too damn busy to write it all down. :P

The year of the Rabbit

So with Chinese New Year upon us I have been looking at my Chinese zodiac. I am a Dragon....imagine that. Wikipedia has graciously enlightened me to what that means.

Magnanimous, stately, vigorous, strong, self-assured, proud, noble, direct, dignified, eccentric, intellectual, fiery, passionate, decisive, pioneering, artistic, generous, loyal. Can be tactless, arrogant, imperious, tyrannical, demanding, intolerant, dogmatic, violent, impetuous, brash.

That was the description given. I can see some of the good and some of the bad traits in myself that are listed here. Lewis and Wes are horses and Ryann is a rat. I was looking at their signs, it was fun to see what their traits were.

Superbowl Sunday

All I can say is that for Wesley....I hope that the Steelers win. He likes the team...I don't really know why. I like the Broncos and Lewis could really care less. So this year I am rooting for the Steelers to win.

Mom...the baby is escaping!!!

This week I am trying to be a good mom. *sigh* It is harder than working a job. First, knowing that I am potentially, if not for sure, screwing up this child to needing permanent therapy sessions for life. The second thing would be that I cannot blame anyone else but me for the damage done to her. Everyone will know that during her "precious" formative years I was the one hanging out with her 24/7. So back to trying to do the right thing. Ryann has been able to get out of bed now for about 3 weeks. She was getting out of her room on numerous occasions and visiting the family at various times of the night. 3 a.m. is not when you want to turn over in bed and have little eyes glistening in the dark at you!!!! She is very very quiet on these night ops. too! The ultimate kick into being safety conscious was when I woke up to find my lovely daughter helping me out by cleaning the stove with 409 and her bottle brush. I thought I was doing well to protect her from the chemicals of the house, but she can now break into the plastic thing that goes over the knobs. So we decided to take out the crib....no need for her to have to struggle by climbing over the rail....we wouldn't want this to be difficult for her. Let her have a big girl bed. Then decided that we needed to lock her into her room. Please spare me the lecture about child rearing and the damage I am doing with locking her in. I'd rather not have her out drinking the Drano. We invested in the covers over the door knobs....which have deterred her for about a week now....so instead of getting up and moving about the house freely, she now gets up at 5 a.m. and beats on her door screaming until I come and talk to her. THERAPY is gonna be expensive!

What you talking about Willis?

OK....I did go back to work....finally, but I'm only on a as needed basis. I am happy to report that Little Miss Ryann LOVES daycare! (Thank You Chris!) She didn't even want to come home with me, but I was touched that she was saying no to me while sitting on the stairs waiting for me to put her shoes on. My boss is excited to have me back, but said that if put on the spot he would deny everything. All I can say is that I can see a train wreck in the near future, but I am along for the ride. Here is to 2011, the year of the incredibly naive daughter who thinks that money should be earned at a 9-5 J.O.B ;) How many weeks will it take to drive someone completely insane? The world may never know!
