Back to the Grind Stone
School is back in session. This year is very different. I miss Wes a ton and I am not spending these next few months trying to figure out if the foreign student living with me likes me or not. Kinda weird. Ryann and I are hanging out and trying real hard to not drive each other insane. :) I did have a brief shining moment today when a young man from Estonia showed up on my door step. He spoke of his funny accent, which I told him it wasn't all that funny for our household. We talked about my kids and where they have all been from. Then he tried to sell me some books. I hate salespeople :( So sadly my visit was cut short. Life is different. Wes is liking his teacher and class. I cannot believe that he is almost double digits...He just turned nine, but time seems to be in hyperdrive I might just miss that milestone.

The Wedding Gift
I managed to put together a fun quilt for a wedding gift. I have made the quilt pattern before but it was fun to see how it turned out in a different color arrangement. I had hearts quilted on it and it turned out real nice. Now onto more projects :)
This was the first one I did with this pattern
Here is the other one....front
back
and I tried to show the quilting with the cute hearts
Here is the first one after it was all finished.

sugar coated
My movie night quilt. Look at how fabulous it is turning out! ♥ it. Next it is off to the quilter's and then snuggle up to a good movie...maybe even a Harry Potter Movie Marathon! ;) My next project is one that shows all my favorite things....totally excited to make that one!

Young Eagles
Wes had the opportunity to take a ride in a two-seater airplane today. It was fun watching him go and have an adventure. It seemed to take forever, but he was so glad that he did it. This will be something he will remember forever.
Wes and Ryann by the plane
Wes trying to help with the balloon launch (he was too short, but I made him stand there anyway to get a pic)
He was excited, I was freaking out...he was happy that was all that mattered :)
taxiing down to the runway
There he is...my little speck in the sky
Flying with the birds :)
Safely back on the ground
It was worth it for the smile afterwards
Thank you Mr. Rydman!
