Devyn Cheyenne

Well the newest addition to our little brood has made her arrival. She made it here on January 20th at 8:30 am, weighing in at 6 lbs. 11 oz. and 18 in. long. Little Shrimp....hahaha. We managed to keep her name a secret, somewhat, only two people new a few weeks before she was born. I can officially say that I am completely out of practice having a baby around. So far I have forgotten the bottle, the binky, the blankets, the diapers, but not the baby......not yet anyway! ;) She is going to be one tough little munchkin....her brother and sister are going to make for damn sure about that. If she can survive the brutal handling from those two it will be a miracle. So, Lewis and I debated over her name for quite a bit before we figured out what we where going to name her. She had tentative names such as, Kimberly, Ashley, Bridget, Megan, Piper, Quinn, and Teddi. I was having a hard time with tagging her with a"girly" name after we had a girl named Ryann. So we started leaning towards boy names that could work for a girl. That is how we settled on Devyn. We believed that we had thought of everything that a parent should when one is naming their child....such as how it sounds, the initials not spelling something horrid, and those type of things. We had to laugh when the nurse was asking me if I named her after Wyoming, because Cheyenne and our last name Casper are both cities in Wyoming. We never thought of that. :) I am super excited to watch her grow and see her little personality bloom. Already I can see similarities and differences to my other two. I love this little family of mine....and to think I was told 15 years ago that I would NEVER have any children of my own! Miracles happen and blessings come when you least expect them! Never stop believing in your dreams and ANYTHING is possible with God!!!!!:)

Almost ready to POP!

She doesn't look like trouble, huh?

We all say that her curly hair is about the only thing that saves her on a daily basis!

Through it all I love this little girl with all my heart, I can't imagine my boring life without her!

Our New little one coming sometime in January

Ryann's little sister and soon to be co conspirator!
So, I have neglected my blogging about my favorite daughter Ryann, since finding out that I am pregnant. Trust me she has been up to all her usual tricks, I just haven't had the energy to blog about all her antics. We are close to getting our newest little monster, uh I mean Angel here. Yes....another little girl is making her way to our family in a few weeks. I am terrified to see if she is similar to Ryann (how will I handle two of them against me???) or if she will have my nice calm nature and sense of peace and contentment? ( and if you all believe that line of bologna then I have a nice investment deal to talk to you about! ;) ) OK, so I am getting my pay backs from my own childhood, but I must say that I really don't think I was ever....EVER that bad as a kid. Although, my parents have told me that I have blocked many many memories from my youth. I guess in my own mind I think I was the perfect kid. My dad did say a while back after I shared some of my stories about my day with Ryann, that "You were never quite THAT bad." Thanks dad for making me feel a little better. I think I will be nicer to Ryann and only wish that her own children will be 1 time worse, because at 10 times worse I fear that would just be way to much! ;)

Don't leave me in charge ;)

My Best Friend's daughter got married last night. Angie and I have been friends for 26 years, gawd I'm OLD, and through distance and lapses in time we have remained close friends. For me that is an accomplishment! I have been able to watch Jacey grow into a beautiful young woman. I've had the amazing privilege to be named as one of her Aunt's in her life. I've been blessed to see such sweet and wonderful moments such as the day she was born, her graduation from high school, and now her beautiful wedding day. I have had a different view than a mother watching her grow and turn into an adult, but last night when I shared how special it was for me to be a part of that I bawled like a baby. I can only imagine what it will be like to watch my daughter grow up. I am thankful that I have been asked to be a part of these moments. Angie has done a wonderful job raising her kids. With all the mushy stuff out of the way, I should let you all know that in future reference I should NOT be in charge of anything at a wedding!! ;) I should just be a guest. Nothing more, just a guest! I got the brilliant idea to decorate the wedding couples vehicle.....UMMM yeah! I am an over doer from hell!!! I believe that a job done should be a job WELL DONE! Unfortunately I don't think anyone got a pic of the final product, because I made the groom REALLY REALLY mad. But in my defense, I had to leave for about an hour, and when I did it didn't look THAT bad!! I guess the younger kids went nuts when I just left the supplies and left them unattended. There were other adults there too, but none of them would admit to anything, so I was the one left holding the bag(of evidence) literally!!! Hopefully, it will all wash off and then it will all be just a fun memory. I will respectfully decline having any involvement with decorating the car again, I cannot be trusted. ;) I am still wondering if they found the rubber on the gas cap yet....and if they haven't I am wondering who it will be that finds it!! Side note* the rubber on the gas cap came from the Pharmacist when I was buying the condoms....hehehe. Not all the ideas were my own! Sorry for the long post.....the whole reason was to finally post these pics of the quilt I made her. I then made my BFF a quilt which she did not know about. They turned out beautiful. :)

Barbie, Barbie, Barbie

I am on a new mission in life. One that has me really questioning my own sanity....well, actually everything I do makes me question my sanity. I thought it would be "fun" to sew some clothes for Barbie. Since we usually get to see her au naturel!!! I seriously thought to myself, how hard can it be? Well the first pattern wasn't bad. Simple gathered skirt, I managed the basics I learned from sewing with my Gma, and my home economics class in high school.
Not too bad, huh? :)
So, I duplicated it in different material, and it turned out just as cute.
Then I decided to move forward and make a complete dress. This is where I have found out that Barbie really has horrible purportions! Yep, I said it...she has some big boobs!!! I was tackling darts on her bodice and let me just say....holy knockers, Batman!
Cute :)

Looks so much better on than on the hanger ....right ;)

This is how Barbie hangs at our house....usually naked and just sitting around, or in this case doing her stretches for the day.
This is what happens when Naked Barbie goes to visit Gma...this is as close to Mormon underwear as Barbie will ever come!!!! LOL

I had to throw this in there...because I made the comment about the huge boobs. HAHA. I know...I know this pic is to deter women from letting there little girls play with Barbie, because it will send her the wrong message about her body image. Well, no need for anyone to jump on their soapbox, I don't think Ryann will ever worry about that....I'm gonna have a hell of a time just getting her to accept that she is a girl. She is the biggest tomboy I could possibly have had. :)

I ♥ you

People I ♥
There are three people in this world that I actually say the words "I Love You" to all the time. The reasoning behind it is because I think to myself that I may never see them again and get that chance. I have to explain this just a little. It's not because I don't love other people in my life....by no means!!! I am what you'd call in terms of Love Languages an "acts of service" type of person. That is how I have always shown my love for people. I will do anything possible to help and give and show my love and appreciation for you, but I won't say it. Weird, huh?? I make mental notes to say it to my Gma every time I leave her, because I know she is getting older....and, well you know. I say it to my son every time he leaves to go places, because I know how his little body is different...and, well you never know. I say it to my daughter, because I have this over bearing need to be somewhat similar to both my children in the way I show my love to them. I don't say these words to anyone else. Sad. It is hard for me to just say them without my brain having a reason to. I have thought and thought about this all weekend. Life alters our perceptions so quickly in one moment, one sentence, or one act. I now can add one more name to this strange list....not because I never loved them before. I have loved them tons, but I have never before had that brain reasoning to be able to say it to them all the time.

How Barbie hangs at our House :)

Wes has been doing exercises for his leg, and of course Ryann watches everything. :) The Barbies were doing their stretches.

This weekend I decided to make a quick quilt for my exchange student Klara, from the Czech Republic. She has been back in the US to go to a friends wedding. I found some fun material in my stash and thought it would be perfect for Klara. I whipped out this puppy in two days!!! It is one of my favorite quilt patterns. It turns out so cute. :)

I have made this quilt three times now....and I have loved each one. This last one I really like all the bright colors. I hope that Klara enjoys it and thinks of us when she cuddles up in it back home.

I have finished another quilt, but you will have to wait to see it, I am giving it away as a gift. I'll post it later. Busy Busy with all the quilting, but at least it keeps me sane.....RIGHT? :)

Quilts, quilts, and more quilts

fun colors I am working with.
The cute little farmer blanket :)
Yep, this is the LITTLE strip that has been left on the floor for two years!! The rest of the house is done. :)
OK...so I am also blogging about my recent gastric bypass surgery and this is where I take my update pics...can you tell or what?? She thinks the poking out belly is important! Do I really look this silly?? LOL

So I have been busy! I have been making quite a few quilts. I made the cutest baby quilt for my great nephew that is coming any day. Plus, I am making a quilt for a wedding and another baby quilt. I have a list of things to finish up also. I hope that I can get it all done in the next little while. I managed to make a cute diaper trike that I saw on Pinterest. I forgot to take a pic of it, doh! On the home front...Lewis is FINALLY finishing the flooring that he started two years ago! WOOHOO. I am doing the happy dance! He threatened me that he would quit if I took a pic and FB'd it or blogged about it, but you ALL know me...I am a rebel and took one anyway!!!
