February is here! ♥

The month of LOVE....where does the time go anymore? 3 big things happening during this month.

1. Valentine's day....gotta love LOVE :)
2. My 6th anniversary on Valentine's Day. Yep, this chicka has the ultimate tacky anniversary date ever!!! But at least when my hubby forgets our anniversary....the whole world of men is reminding him to at least take flowers home to the wife for V-day!!!!!
3. The Hubby's B-day. Sucks that he is two years younger than me....I can't even get on him about getting older, because ultimately that means that I AM OLDER....UHG!

The few things about this month that make me smile are: cinnamon hearts, Peanut butter hearts, and conversation hearts.....and of course everything is doused in my all time favorite color....RED!

Great book!

So I have entered into the new wave of reading books off an electronic device....gasp! I never thought I would venture into this world, but I was thrust into it this past week. So I caved. My verdict is in.....I LOVE IT! Plus the bonus is that I found a great book...which is a series, and I am hooked. I totally relate to the character on so many levels....such as bad marriage, crazy family, horrible luck, and interesting ways of perceiving life in general. If your looking for a fun read, I recommend this book.

Feeling crafty.....heaven help me!

So many of you out there know that I suck at being crafty, but I can make beautiful copies and recreations of things I see. I am currently feeling the need to whip out some quilts or something....I haven't been outside of the house much(in a futile attempt to save money). So now that I officially have Cabin Fever, I guess I should put this pent up energy to good use. Plus it isn't warm enough to start painting rooms in our house. (next project on the 'honey-do' list....he just doesn't know it....yet) So now that I know what I want to accomplish, I need to pick out which quilt I'd like to make....so many choices out there! Here is a pic of last winter's cabin fever project.....loved it!

*Update* 7 years bad luck

So I now see the definite distinction between the way a man thinks and a woman thinks. I won't slam either one because there are positive and negative on both sides.

Man's way to fix the problem:

Woman's way to fix the problem:

I think it is pretty self explanatory :)

January 11 2007

My heart is always heavy on this date. Four years have gone by and time does make it easier to deal with the pain of losing a child. As a mother, I am often brought back to the memories of the baby who is now in heaven. I find myself wondering, who would she have looked like the most and what would she have acted like. She was gone before I even knew it, and it has been one of the most painful things I have yet dealt with. Society makes talking about this type of loss the most uncomfortable and taboo subject, but I find myself talking about her as much as I possibly can. She was my first little girl, no bigger than the palm of my hand. She had ten toes and ten fingers, a little nose and ears. She was just to fragile and small to survive her birth that night. The most tragic part of the whole ordeal was the way I was treated during her birth and death. It pains me still to this day. She was loved so much by me, my husband, and her older brother Wes. We will never forget Cadence Louis and we hope to see her again someday. :)

This is a poem I found :)

Dear Mr. Hallmark

Dear Mr. Hallmark, I am writing to you from heaven, and though it must appear
A rather strange idea, I see everything from here.

I just popped in to visit, your stores to find a card
A card of love for my mother,as this day for her is hard.

There must be some mistake I thought, every card you could imagine
Except I could not find a card, from a child who lives in heaven.

She is still a mother too, no matter where I reside
I had to leave, she understands, but oh the tears she's cried.

I thought that if I wrote you, that you would come to know
That though I live in heaven now, I still love my mother so.

She talks with me, and dreams with me; we still share laughter too,
Memories our way of speaking now, would you see what you could do?

My mother carries me in her heart, her tears she hides from sight.
She writes poems to honor me, sometimes far into the night.

She plants flowers in my garden, there my living memory dwells
She writes to other grieving parents, trying to ease their pain as well.

So you see Mr. Hallmark, though I no longer live on earth
I must find a way, to remind her of her wondrous worth.

She needs to be honored, and remembered too
Just as the children of earth will do.

Thank you Mr. Hallmark, I know you'll do your best
I have done all I can do; to you I'll leave the rest.

Find a way to tell her, how much she means to me
Until I can do it for myself, when she joins me in eternity.

7 years bad luck?!?

Yes, Yes I did hit a parked car. In my defense I'd like to point out that it was a dually truck which was parked further out in the street than normal, due to snowbanks where parked cars should be. I was travelling at the "normal" speed(my dad asked that one) and I was getting squished over by a car which was trying to move into my lane. Needless to say I did not have to use this defense with the officer who responded to accident. Shattered is not only my pride but the back side of the mirror. So of course most of my family thinks that this is pretty funny, and by mostly, I mean that only one doesn't find joy in this (the person's identity is being shielded now by personal request!) Which I might need to add this unrelated disclaimer....knowing me you may become part of this blog, because I think life is pretty funny, and most of the people in mine are pretty funny to me. So, if like the mentioned unnamed person, you do not wish to be part of this personal blog you'll have to let me know. :P Back to the "accident", other than personal humiliation mostly from the family, no one was injured and the mirror will be replaced. I can, however, go back to the optometrist and tell him I don't think the new contacts are working correctly because I hit a parked car!

Mount Plushmore

Ryann can no longer have every stinkin' toy and blanket she owns in her crib with her. I FINALLY figured out why she was freaking out and insisting she have every one of them with her while she slept. DUH mom...wonder why. She plots to figure out how to use it to her best advantage! The Dr. said she was advanced for her age, but failed to mention how advanced! Yes I feel stupid that I didn't figure out what she was up to before the Great Escape happened!

New Year 2011 :)

I have to laugh when I think of resolutions, because I think that I have broken about everyone I ever tried to start. So I have come to the conclusion that I am ok being me. :P So this year, I resolve to continue to be the person I am. I will still say what I think, Laugh with my kids, deal with the punches that life deals out, and make it through 2011 probably as good as I made it through 2010. This year I promise to be a person who will continue to be moving forward and I will still try to do so with grace and dignity, but you all can be the judge of that. I will continue to TRY to turn it over to God, but that is the one I really struggle with. *I'm a Control Freak* I have learned this year that life is to be ENJOYED and not just ENDURED!!! Some have lost that concept along the way as I watch trudging.....yes actual trudging along in their lives. I have noticed that with age something really unfair is happening....time speeds up! I don't want to miss out on anything, because I'm too busy "trying to get by". So here is to one of the best years ever...hehe its the only 2011 I will ever see :). Happy New Year *insert horn sound here*
